Clubs should be clear that the young players within their own academy are those who desire to learn and play at a higher level.Clubs should help parents and players recognize that an academy program is available for players wishing to participate in high level soccer training and playing opportunities.Academies are to be certified by the WYSA Director of Coaching or designee. of soccer academies are subject to the WYSA risk management policy and must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.In order for clubs to certify their academy program they must submit a written request to the WYSA Director of Coaching or their designee for certification.Clubs should be committed to the concept of player development by in an academy environment; proof of their commitment will be overseen by the WYSA Director of Coaching for a two year period.The State Association will monitor those who maybe only designating teams as academy teams in order to obtain more competitive placements for their teams.Accredited Youth Academies The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association identified 18 member clubs as Accredited Youth Academies.Youth Academies are player development methods for U-8 and U-10 players.
